چکیده

To understand the fracture features of zonal disintegration and reveal failure mechanisms circle tunnels excavated in deep jointed rock masses, a series three-dimensional heterogeneous models considering varying joint dip angles are established. The strength reduction method is embedded RFPA to achieve gradual process, macro mode safety factor, reproduce characteristic phenomenon i.e., disintegration. mechanical acoustic emission energy surrounding rocks during different stages whole formation process affected by different-dip-angle joints randomly distributed further discussed. results demonstrate that induced stress redistribution, which significantly from mechanism traditional loose zone; angle set has great influence on buildup, shadow transfer as well mass; existence parallel random lead newly formed cracks near tunnel surface developing along their strikes; make pattern much more complex regional composition. These will greatly improve our understanding engineering.

Numerical Simulation on Zonal Disintegration in Deep Surrounding Rock Mass

Zonal disintegration have been discovered in many underground tunnels with the increasing of embedded depth. The formation mechanism of such phenomenon is difficult to explain under the framework of traditional rock mechanics, and the fractured shape and forming conditions are unclear. The numerical simulation was carried out to research the generating condition and forming process of zonal dis...

Simulation Analysis on the Strength and Acoustic Emission Characteristics of Jointed Rock Mass

Original scientific paper To analyse the influence of joint angle, number and spacing on the strength and acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of rock mass, the uniaxial compression model of rock specimens was established using the micro particle flow PFC2D software platform. The intact rock parameters were determined via trial and error, joints with different angles, numbers and spacing were...

Effects of statistical distribution of joint trace length on the stability of tunnel excavated in jointed rock mass

The rock masses in a construction site of underground cavern are generally not continuous, due to the presence of discontinuities, such as bedding, joints, faults, and fractures. The performance of an underground cavern is principally ruled by the mechanical behaviors of the discontinuities in the vicinity of the cavern. During underground excavation, many surrounding rock failures have close r...

Model Test of Anchoring Effect on Zonal Disintegration in Deep Surrounding Rock Masses

The deep rock masses show a different mechanical behavior compared with the shallow rock masses. They are classified into alternating fractured and intact zones during the excavation, which is known as zonal disintegration. Such phenomenon is a great disaster and will induce the different excavation and anchoring methodology. In this study, a 3D geomechanics model test was conducted to research...

Elastic-plastic Analysis of Jointed Rock Mass Using Meshless Method

Analysis of rock masses with plenty of weakness planes and joints with numerical methods based on meshes encounters difficulties. In the analysis when even only a few meshes are involved, mesh generation can consume more time and effort compared to the construction and solution of the discrete set of equations. Continuous remeshing of the domain in order to avoid the break down of the calculati...
